Make sure your cream cheese is easy to work with and softened to help mix the other ingredients through it properly. Take it out of the refrigerator at least half an hour before starting the dip for easier mixing.

Next, add the softened cream cheese to a large bowl and use an electric mixer to mix the cream cheese until smooth. Then add the shredded cheese, thyme, rosemary, oregano, salt and pepper to the bowl and mix until all the ingredients are combined.

Scrape the sides of the bowl into a ball shape and place the cream cheese mixture into the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes (or until the cream cheese ball is firm enough to shape).

Do you think this would still look nice if I mixed the cream cheese and the cranberry vs just top the cream cheese with cranberry? I hate it when a guest goes to try something and are only left with cream cheese and not much topping.

These delicious and adorably festive cream cheese pinwheels are great for the holidays. They're also a tasty party food you can enjoy year round! Pinwheel appetizers are also a favorite with our family and guests.

Any tips on spreading the second and third layers of cream cheese? I made this for Christmas and it was almost impossible to spread the stiffer cream cheese over the softer pesto and tomatoes. Ended up very sloppy and uneven but delicious

I do have a tip. I usually smooth the cream cheese out into a round shape then place it on the sun dried tomatoes or pesto. Then I add a little more cream cheese in chunks and use a knife to smooth everything out. It is always a little messy no matter what you do but it is delish!
